Interment could take place prior to the service or following the service. Other options include family or public viewing for last good-byes and/or a prayer service.

Memorial Service: This service most commonly involves cremation. There are many options, including last good-byes and viewing before cremation; the body in a casket present at the service with cremation following:

* The cremains present in an urn at the service;

* Or no cremains present at the service, possibly a picture in remembrance of the loved one.

The cremains can be interred before the service, following the service, or kept in safe keeping until such a time as the family wishes to have the interment (ground, niche or scattered).

Graveside Service: This service is exclusively at the grave or columbarium niche in a cemetery. It can be with a casket or an urn. It can be a private family service or open to the public, but may be dependent upon the weather.
