Dad had an adventurous spirit and was not afraid to try anything. He loved farming and the care of animals.  It was difficult for him to leave the farm but he filled his time with gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables. Dad enjoyed woodworking and horsemanship. He took time to teach us children the skills in caring for, training and riding horses. Over the years, Dad was very active in church life both in Morden and Newton. He was a Sunday School teacher, an usher and deacon.  He volunteered at family camp and for the Progressive Conservative Party.

One of Dad's sayings that helped in his life's journey was “God is good!” even through all the negative times.  He believed it and was thankful to God. He would share his gratitude for God's goodness with all who would listen.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Newton Community Fellowship Church at 11:00 am led by John Nikkel.  Viewing will take place prior to the service.  A private family burial will take place at the Methodist Cemetery in High Bluff.
