Peacefully Franklin Wesley Gowler passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 72 years.

Left to cherish his memories are his children Tracey (Bill) Langner , Shirley and Robert Gowler ; grandchildren Charmaine (Michel) Picton, Daniel (Jamie) Langner, Brandon (Josie) , Eric and Wesley Klyne along with seven great grandchildren plus numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dad is predeceased by his beloved wife Heather Gowler, parents Wesley and Lillian Gowler and daughter Sheri-Lee.

Dad was born January 12th 1947 in Winnipeg, MB .  He grew up and spent most of his life in Poplar Point, even after he married the love of his life Heather Phillips from High Bluff, and raised his family.  Dad worked at the Southport Base for 23 years starting as an electrician/carpenters helper then moving on to being a Boiler Engineer. He was then was forced to retire from there and worked at PMI for a few years assembling/ inspecting combines and swathers.  Then left there and went to Westward Industries doing assemblies and as a general handy man until his full retirement. Dad then moved into Portage to be closer to mom in 2011.

In Dads spare time he loved working with wood always building something, dad also loved his hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Dad had a huge heart always was there to lend a hand, teach, or give friendly advice, always had a smile and greeted people with kindness. The last of dads life was spent out at the cabin (our place) where he could enjoy watching the wildlife down along the creek, he called it his piece of paradise; his happy place. Dad touched a lot of people’s lives through his kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed.
