It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Didyk, loving father and husband who peacefully passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Portage District General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Iris of 34 years; sons Dale and James; favourite daughter Karley and loyal canine Bella. Ken also leaves to mourn his brother Dennis (Penny and children Darren, Tamara, and Cody) and brother Dave; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.  Ken was predeceased by parents Dan and Olga Didyk.

Ken was born in Dauphin where he was an altar boy at the Ukrainian Church and had a paper route. After graduating from Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, he worked many, many jobs from CN and CP, to a bakery, highways and a briefly in psych nursing where he met the love of his life, Iris. After finding his love, he found his passion for trucking. Ken worked many trucking jobs from long and short hauls, across Canada and the United States to shunt trucking at McCains in Portage, where he stayed close to home to watch his kids grow up.

Ken and his family have been on many trips together creating many memories. Ken was able to experience one last amazing trip with his wife, daughter and friends to Punta Cana. He enjoyed listening to his talk radio, reading novels and frequent walks with Bella.
