Margie (Mary) Cramer

November 27, 1933 — May 30, 2020

On Saturday evening, May 30th, 2020 Margie Cramer passed away peacefully. She is predeceased by husband Clinton Cramer, brother-in-law Bill Pereversoff, and sisters-in-law Una (Alfred) Henderson, and June (Lionel) McKinnon. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Mark (Cheryl), Dale, and Andrew, grandson Graydon (Celine), and sisters Anne (George) Watts and Hazel Pereversoff, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie was born in Brilliant, BC to William and Ann Labentsov (both deceased). After grade school, she took business training and became a stenographer in Nelson, BC. She then moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to attend Bethel Bible Institute, where she met Clinton.  They were married in August 1959 and moved to the Yukon for Clinton’s teaching job. Eventually they moved to Winnipeg, and then on to Portage in 1966. Mom enjoyed working for the Portage Dental Clinic for several years, but ultimately chose to be at home with her boys.

Mom enjoyed her garden and would grow anything that could grow (including fruit-trees and grapes, familiar to her childhood in BC), cooking large delicious meals for family and friends, helping people whenever she could, and always making sure they were well looked after and fed. Spare time was filled with crossword puzzles, games of scrabble, playing the piano, and keeping in touch with family and friends by phone. She always had a smile on her face, a creative sense of humour, often including puns, as well as words of wisdom to share and reflect on.

Church fellowship was a valuable part of Mom's (and our family's) life, especially singing, teaching Sunday School and studying the Bible, which she read through numerous times. Mom lived her life with amazement, gratitude, and prayer, believing that faith in God had changed the course of her life, and wishing everyone could experience happiness, peace, and hope, in the way that she had.

She will be dearly missed by family, friends and loved ones, and those who affectionately called her “Mrs. C, Gramma, Auntie Margie”

A private family interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. A celebration of Margie’s life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made In memory of Margie Cramer to the Our Daily Bread Ministries Canada, PO Box 1622, Windsor, Ontario N9A 6Z7

“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple”  Psalm 27:4 KJV
