Marilyn Whincup

November 24, 1964 — July 26, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved sister & aunt, Marilyn Roberta Whincup.  She passed away at the Brandon Health Centre after a brief illness at the age of 57.

Marilyn leaves behind her brother Glen (Debbie), brother Rick (Gailyn), numerous nephews & nieces including; Rylan, Neil (Marley) Mason & Ethan, Jared (Karlynne) Maddox & Maverick, Bryan Jr., and sister-in-law Barb.  She was predeceased by her father Elmer, mother Ida (nee Coles), brothers Wayne, Bryan and Barry.

Marilyn was born and grew up in Portage La Prairie.  She was the only daughter and youngest of six children.  In her younger years, she was involved in Special Olympics. Marilyn loved to bowl, watch her brothers play hockey and attend Portage Terriers games with her mom & family.  She enjoyed many camping adventures and weekends at the trailer at Lynch’s Point.

Marilyn’s loved listening to music and her favorite rock groups were Guns-N-Roses & White Snake.  She was absolutely thrilled to attend the Guns-N- Roses concert in Winnipeg, wearing her Guns-N-Roses t-shirt.  She also loved and had a special bond with animals, especially cats.  Trips to agriculture fairs were spent petting & holding every animal.

Marilyn will be sadly missed by her best friend, Whitney.  Your care, dedication, love and support of Marilyn will never be forgotten.  Our sincerest thanks to all the support staff who took such special care of Marilyn over the years.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at the Brandon Health Centre.  A special thank you to Denise.

A family service will be held at a later date in Portage la Prairie, MB.
