Peacefully, Suzanne Stoughton passed away with her daughter by her side on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 63 years.  Predeceased by her parents Doris and Michael Sitarz, she is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Edward “Lexie”; daughter Melonie; son Dustan; brother James;  sisters Gail, Elaine, Ann (Ed) and Marlene (Ken); sisters-in-law Gerrine (Les), Cheryl, Noreen; brother-in-law Allan (Erin) along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Suzanne was born on July 25, 1956 in Hamilton, ON, and was raised in Pine Ridge, MB.  In 1975 she married Lexie, the love of her life, and they moved to Oakville, MB to raise their family.  Suzanne was a caring and compassionate woman who worked first as a health care aide at the Lions Prairie Manor then later as a nurse at the Manitoba Developmental Center after graduating from the Practical Nursing Program at Assiniboine Community College.  Suzanne loved gardening and going on motorcycle trips with Lexie.  She was devoted to her family and loved visiting and spending time with her loved ones, especially at the cabin in Lac du Bonnet.

The family would like to thank Drs. Nagra and Finney, and the staff at the Portage District General Hospital and CancerCare Mantoba for all of the compassion and are they gave to Suzanne throughout these past 2 years.

At Suzanne’s request, a celebration of her life will be held next summer for family and friends.
