Verna 'Opal' Taylor

Peacefully, with her family by her side, Opal passed away at the Portage District General Hospital on January 31, 2021 at the age of 91 years.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Sherry and Lorraine (Henry), grandchildren Carter, Samantha (Kevin), Lacey (Derek), Jerri Lynn (Kirk), Skylar (Adrianna), Riley (Katarina) and Courtney and great-grandchildren Aurora, Aiden, Levi, June, Tuck, Maci, Kora and Huxton.

Opal was predeceased by her husband Russell, daughter Kathy Marshall and grandson Dane Marshall.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Opal’s memory to Sunset Palliative Care Inc., Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3B2.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
