McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel remains deeply committed as always for the safety of our families, guests, staff and community. Our team is closely monitoring this evolving situation of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and are following guidelines and taking additional precautions that have been put forth by our National and Provincial Funeral Associations, along the health guidelines from the Province of Manitoba and Health Authorities.
As an extra layer of precaution for you, at the funeral home we are doing additional cleaning and disinfecting, we have taken additional measures to increase the disinfecting of all surfaces within the funeral home. We are supplying hand sanitizer at the funeral home. We also suggest washing your hands, covering coughs/sneezes and avoiding physical condolences. Looking someone in the eye, with loving words and a warm smile are as meaningful to the family as a handshake or hug.
All of us at McKenzies are here to assist families in caring for their loved ones and we will continue to give them guidance during these uncertain times. Recognizing a life that has been lost is a critical step in the grief journey.
McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel wants to reassure families that we will continue to provide the opportunity to have private small gatherings within the guidelines given by the Province of Manitoba and will also work with families who choose to have a celebration of life at a later date for their loved ones.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely and make any necessary changes as we work through these uncertain times.
Please take care of yourself and others, while we all get through this together.
