It is with great sadness, and aching hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Brandi-lee (Gushulak) Slocombe on March 10, 2022 at 44 years of age.  Brandi-lee is survived by her loving and devoted partner of 8 years, Duane Lysohirka, her two beloved sons, Dillon Kernested (Leeza) and Nicholas Slocombe (Emma), her sisters Jodi-lee Gushulak (Kevin), Tessi-lee Gushulak (Everett), her parents Randy and Heather Gushulak, her nana Lorna Jones, and the apple of her eye, her grandson Mason Kernested.  Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Brandi-lee was born in Calgary, AB on June 9, 1977.  She received the majority of her schooling in Sundance and Stonewall, MB making many friends along the way.  She was a hard worker and held many jobs over the years.  Several of those years were spent in the banking industry as well as the agricultural industry.  At times she held more than one job to make ends meet during her years as a single parent.

Brandi-lee always said her biggest accomplishment in life, was raising her two sons, whom she loved fiercely and was extremely proud of.  She was blessing in September of 2020 with the birth of her beautiful grandson Mason, and was so happy to be known as “Meeme”.  She cherished spending time with family.  Brandi-lee had a love of figure skating and participated in many figure skating competitions in her younger years.  She also completed her instructor’s certification to teach skating.  She was an avid reader, a creative writer and an entertaining story teller.   Brandi-lee will be fondly remembered for her kind hearted spirit, her wonderful sense of humour and her contagious laugh.
