Surrounded by love, Anne Teghtmeyer, born September 9, 1935 to Gardner and Frances Young, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, her ex-husband Ken Teghtmeyer, brothers-in-law Bill Shirriff and Bob Teghtmeyer, and sisters-in-law Sheila and Joan Teghtmeyer.
Mourning her passing are her daughter Nancy Teghtmeyer (David), son Bill Teghtmeyer (Sharon), granddaughter Sabrina, step-granddaughters Jordann (Darcy), Jessica, and step great-grandchildren Maelynn and Thomas. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Wilma Shirriff, nephew Ken Shirriff (Kathryn) their daughter Sydney, and niece Anita Borger (Henry) and their daughters Emma and Lillian. Many other relatives and friends will remember her fondly.
Anne lived a long and productive life while enduring rheumatoid arthritis from the age of four onward. She faced many operations and difficulties, but with the care of her parents attended Cochrane School, Sunday School at High Bluff United Church, and graduated from Portage Collegiate Institute. She became a teacher and served in rural schools until venturing west to Alberta.
She married Ken Teghtmeyer and with their two children, Bill and Nancy, they came to Manitoba. Anne took on the challenge of various jobs and never lost her faith or determination, even when she had to assume the role of single parent. Anne’s faith sustained her and her life was an inspiration to many.
The family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Penner, Prairie Independence personnel, and Southern Health/Santé Sud home care nurses for their dedication to Anne’s care and well-being.
