Betty Anne O'Brien

With sadness we announce the passing of Betty Anne on November 13th, 2025, at Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 63.

Left to mourn is her mother, Kathy; brother Brian (Mary) and sister Angel all of Portage la Prairie, MB.; children Sheldon (Cathy) of Petawawa, On, Andrea (Cory), Ronald Jr. of Portage la Prairie, MB and Melissa of Winnipeg, MB. Her grandchildren which were her pride and joy Austin, Addison, Olivia, Meleah, Makiah, Maleek, Riley and Kreed; nephew Kevin of Portage la Prairie, niece Avery of Dakota Tipi which referred to her as Aunty “B”.

She was predeceased by her father Ronald, brother Randy, and nephew Evan.

Mom was such an inspiration to all, no matter where she was, she always had a smile on her face and loved to chat with everyone. She had many careers over the years. She started her career at Westward Village Inn; she worked 20 + years at the MDC and once she retired she went to Microtel Hotel, where she made many friends over years. Mom’s favorite things to do were shopping at Costco and getting her soaps from bath and body works, she loved watching her shows on tv especially The Price is Right. Mom will be missed by many and will always remain in our hearts.

A come and go celebration of Betty Anne’s life with be held on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel located at 56 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie from 7:00 – 8:00pm. A private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.
