Carly Taryn Ballantyne

With sadness we announce the passing of Carly Taryn Ballantyne, she passed away on March 12, 2024 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 25 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Aries Ballantyne, mother Mary Ballantyne, father Darcy Audy, grandma Jo-Ann Audy, grandpa George Ballantyne, siblings Cote Ballantyne, Chloey Ballantyne and KG Ballantyne, aunties Lisa Ballantyne and Wanske Ballantyne, uncles Sheldon O’Neill, Nish Ballantyne, Doug Fidler and Eugene Audy, along with numerous relatives and friends.  She is welcomed into loving hands by Bella Ballantyne, Dylan Ballantyne and Jolene Chartrand.

Carly was a Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Granddaughter, Cousin and Friend.  She was a friendly and thoughtful person, she left a mark on everyone she met.  Carly loved outdoors, going swimming, taking a hike, camping and playing the piano.   She loved being a mother to her son, she always expressed hoe much light he brought into her life.  Carly was very involved with her church in Portage la Prairie, she was treated like family.

Carly went to live with John and Sabine Sawatsky and family in her teens.  She had many fond memories of working with the Gerber and Sawatsky familys helping with the produce for the farmer’s market.  Carly was very proud of her accomplishments on graduating from Grade 12 in June of 2019.  She also went to obtain her driver’s licence, allowing her more freedom to go places. 

Carly will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her fun-loving nature and kindness to others.

A Wake will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wuskwi Sipihk Community Hall in Birch River, MB.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Portage Evangelical Church in Portage la Prairie, MB, followed by the burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
