Peacefully, with her family at her side, Carol Fraser passed away on January 14, 2026 at the Douglas Campbell Lodge at the age of 84 years.
Carol leaves behind her children, Lisa (Terry) Swidnicki, Randy (Linda) Fraser and Darren (Janine) Fraser; grandchildren Megan, Ryan (Mireya) and Kevin Swidnicki, Kailee (Seth) Laframboise and Marisa Fraser; great grandchildren Ariel, Summer and Natalya Swidnicki; sister Iris Carman along with nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Chester Fraser; parents George and Una Carman; sisters-in-law Doreen (Doug) Dow, Jean (Glen) Peterson and parents-in-law Charlie and Kathleen Fraser.
Mom grew up and spent her early years at Delta Beach before moving in the mid-1970’s to the Fraser family farm with her husband and children. She became an active part of the farm, helping with spring seeding, fall harvests and regularly delivering meals to those working in the fields.
Family was central to mom’s life. She cared for her children as well as her mother, grandmother, and other family members, supporting them with appointments and daily responsibilities.
Curling was a long-standing interest. Carol played in her younger years and later followed the sport closely, watching men’s and women’s competitions at the provincial, national and international levels.
Mom valued time at home, visits with family and was rarely without a cup of coffee nearby. Mom will be remembered for her kind, sweet nature, love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
A private family graveside service will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Carol’s memory to MS Canada or to a charity of your choice.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
