Carol "Gayle" Armishaw

July 6, 1940 — August 28, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol "Gayle" Armishaw on Monday, August 28th, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

Gayle was born on July 6th, 1940, in Antler, Saskatchewan. She was 1 of 10 children born to James and Elena Davis: She spent her early years in a town close by named Tilson, In 1948, the family moved to Melita and then again to Portage la Prairie in 1954.

Gayle's last marriage was to Jim Armishaw on December 27th, 1985. Gayle had 6 children and kept working to help care for them. She worked at the Campbell Soup Factory for 27 years at which time it closed down. She then took a job at Westward Village Inn until she retired. Gayle loved to crochet, knit, go out dancing and bowling, she also loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Gayle moved into Third Crossing Manor in June of 2023. She enjoyed watching TV, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, bowling and visiting with family and friends.

On behalf of Gayle's family, a heart felt appreciation to the staff at 3rd Crossing Manor for the excellent care she received during her short stay. A very special thank you to her new friends Bev, Grace, and Dave, and a heart warming thank you to nurse Danny and aide Delayne for the extra special care and compassion they provided.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
