Cecile Maloney

Suddenly but peacefully with the voices of the angels Cecile passed away on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at the age of 80.

Cecile was born in Portage la Prairie, on May 28, 1937 second child of Jeanne Louis and Charles Renard.  She received her education at Nairn School.  She left home at a young age and worked as a cashier at IGA, Safeway and Portage Supermarket.  She spent many volunteer hours as a CWL member working at the Manitoba Developmental Centre, the Women’s Prison, Blood Donor Clinics and St. John’s and Good Shepherd Parish.

On May 28th, 1960 she married Lloyd Irvine Maloney and was married for 52 years till Dads passing in 2012.

Cecile was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lloyd, brother Paul Renard, sisters-in-law Vera Dickson, Donna Maloney,  Paulette Maloney as well as brothers-in-law Paul Shepherd, James Dickson, Robert Lowden, Ken Lowden, beloved niece Cheryl Shepherd, nephew Kevin Maloney and grandnephew Shane Dickson.

Left to mourn her passing are daughters Valerie (Grant) Bullock, Tracy (Garth) Bullock and Heather (Bill) Carruthers; grandchildren, Charla Bullock(Jordan Isfeld), Lindsey (Mitchell) Leng, Danielle Bullock (Scott Lavallee) Krystal (Cheney) Wright, Sarah (Shane) Osbourne Richards, Erin (Tyson) Jordon, Holly Bullock, Josh Bullock and Emma Bullock; great grandchildren Cassidy, Ivy, Violet, Tristan, Olivia, Presley, Peyton, Logan, Hadleigh, and Evander, Reed; sisters Pauline (Robert) Debusschere, Anita Shepherd and Bernadette Gnanapragasam; brothers-in-law Joe Maloney, Ron (Lois) Maloney sisters-in-law Lois Lowden, Eunice (Laurie) Donald, Sharon (Larry) Moar and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lions Prairie Manor for the care and compassion shown to Mom these past few years.

Prayers will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 7:00 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 am led by Father Gerald Langevin. Private family interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
