Chris Wescoupe

May 27, 1972 — May 6, 2022

Chris Everett Wescoupe passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 49 years old.

Chris was born on Saturday, May 27,1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Marie and Edward Wescoupe. He attended school at Arthur Meighen High School in Portage La Prairie and graduated with honours.

Chris never had any children of his own. However, after mom passed Chris moved to Winnipeg where he and his nephew, Shawn lived as Bachelors - with dad joining in a few years later. He loved to travel and visit family in Pukatawagan, The Pas and Long Plains reserve and cherished all his relations. He selflessly cared for his father and nephew Shawn until his passing. He will be dearly missed by all his family, but we find comfort knowing that he is with his mother in Heaven.

Chris was an amazing and very talented artist.  His work is proudly displayed in many homes of his family and friends. His art is featured in many organizations logo’s including ACES in Edmonton and The Pas Community Corrections. He regular donated paintings for many fundraising efforts including the Terry Fox Run and he was a proud supporter of 2SLGBTQ.

He was a fan of Comicon and a great supporter of Winnipeg Fandom.  He took it upon himself to be the official photographer of the many people he befriended at these conventions and they grew to love him. Chris always had a smile on his face and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He was the kindest person and his friends say Comicon will never be same without him. His trivia knowledge and interests are what people will remember most. He regularly attended many conventions including Winnipeg Comicon, C4 Winnipeg, Ai-kon, Horrorcon, TFCON. Chris has a Facebook page called Winnipeg Conventions where he and his nephew, Shawn share their posts and adventures while attending the various conventions. He had an enormous collection of movies, video games and comics. He loved Halo and enjoyed Anime including his favorites Masamune Shiron and Hayao Miyazaki. He was always tinkering with his RC collections and fixing and buying vehicles with his father. He liked Star Wars, Betty Boop, Aliens, Marvel & DC comics/ Disney. He also offered his driving services to many who needed it, and also as a safe alternative to taxi’s.

Chris loved his cats.  He was such a sweet, caring and gentle bear.  He was often posting pictures of his beloved fur babies and looked after them all with great care. His cats: Peepers, Grendal, Aggy, Goku and Vageta are now being cared for by one of his good friends… and he had many.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory:  Dad, Edward; Sisters, Beverly (Pat) MacIsaac and their children, Ian, Eric and Aiden; Patricia (Don) Whitney and their children, Jessie McAuley, Shawn Sinclair, Chase Whitney and his children, Karson Azure, George Parker Whitney, Rose Whitney; and Amory (Teresa) and their children; Dominic, Jerome & Katha. His many traditionally adopted bothers and sisters; aunties and uncles, nephews and nieces, cousins and many relatives who were dear to Chris’ heart.

Chris was predeceased by his:  mother, Marie Wescoupe (Sinclair), aunt, Marie Adele Colomb, great aunt Selazie Linklater, grandparents Edward & Genevieve Sinclair; Wallace Hobson and Elsie Wescoup; uncles Teddy, Melvin, Harvey, Clemence Wescoupe, cousin’s Emily Sinclair (Stan Bighetty), Harry Sinclair & Merle Bear, Marlon Sinclair, Glen Colomb, Tom Chaske, Lenard Wescoup, Sage Colomb and many relatives too numerous to mention.
