On September 30, 2025, Cynthia “Cindy” Meeches entered the spirit world in Calgary, AB at the age of 63 years of.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Dorothy; brother Robert; sisters Mildred, Mavis and Janis; nephews Nathaniel and Brandon and her nieces Skyler, Lakea, Brett and Candace.
Left to mourn her passing are her sisters Catherine/Kit-Kat, Carolyn (Jason), Naomi (Trevor) and Amanda; brothers Brent (Tina) and Jamie. She will also be missed by her stepmom Brenda and sister-in-law Lesley as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom Cindy loved and cherished immensely.
As a child and teenager, Cindy grew up (briefly) in Long Plain First Nation and Winnipeg, MB with her siblings. When Cindy was 15 years old, she would go to Banff every summer and work during the high tourist season. By the time she was 21 years old she decided to make her move permanent to Banff, Alberta. She would visit Manitoba to visit her dad and siblings often. Every summer she would encourage her siblings to do seasonal work in Banff for the summer months for years to come. Cindy obtained her GED so she could attend a cooking course in Calgary. When she returned to Banff, she became most known for working in the kitchen at the Banff Centre, School of Fine Arts and the Sukiyaki House, where she was a short-order cook. She was kind-hearted to everyone and had a lot of friends. She was witty and hilarious. We will always remember our sister for her incredible compassion and generosity. She would help in any way she could if she knew there was a need. Cindy was always joking and laughing right until the end.
“Cindy”, we are going to miss the sound of your voice and your laughter. We thank you for all of the love you brought into our lives and know we were blessed to have you as our tiny, big sister.
