He was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Edith Woodward, infant granddaughter Hannah Edith Rose Woodward, infant sister Nancy, brothers Kivil, Stanley (Pat), Elmer (Helen) Ross, William, Eddie (Adele) and Elva (Howard) Keast.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Joyce Woodward of Portage la Prairie, MB, son Murray (Jennifer) and their children Gillian and Daniel, daughter Cindy (the late Lloyd) Turner and their children Ross and Murray and Daughter Bonnie (Lawrence) MacDonald and their children Elizabeth and Kenny. He also leaves behind his siblings Hartley (the late Margaret) Woodward, Connie (the late Doug) Henry, Louise (the late Ben) Patsack and Claudia Basler, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Born March 25, 1932 at Lavenham, MB, Dale grew up and worked on the family farm. Dad and Mom would have reached 60 years together on October 1st of this year. Together they raised a family of one son and two daughters.
Dad was a hard worker all his life. Dale worked at Campbell’s Soup mushroom plant and CP Rail for many years. Dad also worked for Faurschou Farms. Gerald and Doug were great people (friends) to work for. Driving a tractor was never like work for Dad.
Dad and Mom enjoyed planting their garden every year. Dad curled, and loved to watch their son Murray curl in many bonspiels. Dad enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow, and was always asking Mom what they were doing. Dad very much enjoyed getting together with family and friends.
We will forever miss Dad and cherish the time we had with him.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be announced at a later date.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
