Scott Campbell

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Scott Campbell at his home on December 29, 2025, at the age of 70 years.

Scott will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nicole; daughters Jennifer (Andrew) and Mikelle (Colin); grandchildren Piper, Jace and Kian; brother Michael Campbell and sister Susan Campbell. Also missing Scott are his sisters-in-law, Michele Tully, Janet Picard, and Gisele Sutherland. His cherished nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Nick, Bernard, Christian and Dominique.

Scott grew up in Portage la Prairie attending several schools. Although he did not complete grade 12, he did attain his GED a few years later Scott aced the exam much to his surprise. Scott struck out on his own before he turned 20, first to BC to play hockey and then to Calgary. Shortly after returning to Portage, he met Nicole Oberton they were friends for a year before Scott asked Nicole out their first date; at a party in the McDonald’s area

They were married in 1982 and continued to live in Portage. Scott had already started his career at McCain and remained there until his retirement in 2013.

In 1985, Scott and Nicole adopted their precious Jennifer Lin at the age of 13 months. A few years later, in 1990 Scott and Nicole added Mikelle to the family. The family was complete.

Scott and Nicole moved several times starting in Portage, then to Oakville and then back to Portage. They finally landed at Scott’s favorite place, Pleasant Valley on Pelican Lake. Scott was able to golf every day, perfect his yard and spend time with cherished friends.

Scott’s kindness will never be forgotten, his love for his girls will be cherished, a life well lived!

A celebration of his life will be held on May 1st, 2026 at Canad Inns, Portage la Prairie, from 7pm to 9pm. Program to start at 7:30. 

Donations in memory of Scott may be made to The Children’s Hospital Foundation.
