Deanne Marie Theresa Rose (nee Pollock)

With sadness we announce the passing of Deanne Rose on September 25, 2025, at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Kim (Cam) Large, Rick Rose and Kevin (Carrie) Rose; grandchildren Kathryn (Shawn), Bryce (Allison), Gracie and Jenna; brother Don Pollock; sister-in-law Anna Pollock; special cousin Mark Barda and family and special friends Lasha and Ed Thurston. She was predeceased by her husband Ray; parents Doris and John Pollock; brother Walter Pollock and sister-in-law Bonnie Pollock.

She was the middle child of three siblings born in Portage la Prairie. Her early education was at North Ward school, then PCI. Mom had various jobs including working for her brother at his music store, The Royal Bank, Sears and the Portage Hospital. She really enjoyed being with people and hearing their stories. She hated flying but was lucky enough to have taken a trip to her brother’s in Ontario.

Mom’s kids and family were central to her life, and her grandkids were her biggest joy. Our mom had style and a really great sense of humour. She enjoyed family get togethers and family celebrations and being with her friends. She really enjoyed golfing with her husband and son. She would never be without her pets; Chloe and Buddy who will miss her dearly. We will miss mom dearly.

A private family service was held with interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
