With her family by her side, Deborah “Debbie” Lane passed away on January 28, 2026 at Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 71 years.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Louise Lane (nee Lavallee); infant brother Alexander; sister Margot de Vries; and brother-in-law Evan Jones. She leaves to mourn two sisters, Patricia Schwitek (Harold) and Lynda Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Debbie was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba and lived most of her life with her mother, Louise, sharing an apartment together for many years. Debbie completed a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Human Services with a minor in Theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Child Protection Centre at the Health Sciences in Winnipeg for over 20 years. Debbie was a talented artist whose work reflected God's beauty. Her faith in Jesus never waivered. She was an avid movie lover and had an extensive collection of her favorite films.
She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Funeral Service will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage la Prairie, MB, further details to follow. Debbie will be laid to rest beside her mother in St. Francois Xavier Cemetery at a later date.
