Eleanor Lynne Kendall

February 1, 1948 — April 27, 2025

With a lot of love in the room Eleanor Kendall passed away on April 27, 2025. Her son-in-law, Jim, granddaughter Kendra and her honorary daughter Cindy (niece) were there holding her hand.

My mom was born in Estavan Saskatchewan in 1948. Her life with family wasn't an easy one being the black sheep, each taking turns stabbing her in the back. (requested by my mom to be written here so take it up with her if you don’t like it)

My mother was an amazingly strong person that could have had a movie made of her life, I believe God gave her Alzheimer's so she wouldn't remember all the wrong that was done to her. Anyways.

Mom married my dad Terry in 1969 and in their golden years moved out to Marquette, Manitoba. Mom worked at Northwest Company supporting her and my dad for many years until her retirement. Predeceased by Terry in 2017, father-in-law Philip, Sammy her fur baby.

She was survived by me her daughter Karen; her son-in-law Jim (idiot is what she would call him to make herself laugh); granddaughter Kendra (Ryan); grandsons P.J (Alicia), Will (Shawn); great grandsons Connor, Jessie, Jack, Liam and great granddaughter Grace. I call Cindy her honorary daughter because she wasn’t just a niece, she was more important than that. She had many people that she called every day until she got sick, too many to name.

KFC and Chicken Chef will surely miss her because she could eat chicken every day, I asked her one day if she was going to grow feathers or cluck. She loved homemade meals and holiday dinners. She had a phobia of bees and could have outrun any Olympic sprinter if there was a bee coming up behind her.

Mom got sick a year ago, and after three different places ended up in Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie. Her last 7 weeks she got that gleam back in her eye that she lost while in the other place. Every person from housekeeping to the Dr. made her last weeks better. A simple wave from her and they would wave back, or a simple fist pump would make her day. I hope every time they hear “Squirrel!!!” they think of my mother. No words can ever really show how grateful the family was to see her treated with such respect and dignity.

At her request she was cremated and there will be no formal service. Mom, rest in peace nobody can hurt you now. Happy haunting! Love you forever. Karen
