Eric Maurice Toupin

Peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023, Eric Toupin passed away at his home in St. Adolphe, Mb at the age of 55 years.   

Eric will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laurie-Anne (nee Jackson), children Daneige, Maël, Nikolas and Kallie, parents Roger and Diane (Desrochers) Toupin, Garry Jansen, siblings Michel (Geneviève), Paul (Larena) and Tina (Chris) Davis.  He will also be missed by his parents-in-law Phil and Lucille Jackson, brothers-in-law Phil (Cathy), Danny (Rosemarie), and Micheal (Shannon), sister-in-law Nichole; along with many nieces, nephews, great nephews, 1 great niece, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Leona Jackson and nephew Tyler Jackson.

Eric was born in Baldur, MB and was raised in Winnipeg, St. Leon and St. Claude.  Growing up Eric was a great helper to his parents and continued to be so to everyone around him.  He had a heart of gold.  Eric always strived to be the best big brother possible. 

Eric met Laurie in 1993 and they were married in 1998.  They started their family in Winnipeg and later moved to St. Adolphe where they raised their 4 children and had many happy years together. 

Time spent with his family and in-laws meant the world to Eric.  His friends have many stories to tell of good times past.  Eric was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, fishing and gardening.  Eric also loved anything science fiction and of course video games.  He was a hardworking man who always took pride in his work. He would often send Laurie pictures of circuit boards, wires and panels just to show her what he was working on. Eric was a loving husband, father, son, big brother, uncle and friend. He has left us all with great memories. 

The family would like to thank family, friends and the community for all their care and compassion over the past few years, especially the Southern Health Palliative Care Team.

Viewing and Visitation will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Friday May 12, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm.  Funeral Service will be held at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm, with viewing prior to service, led by Father Gregory Kossi Djiba.  Interment to follow in the St. Adolphe Cemetery.  The service will be livestreamed, to view the service link see below.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Eric’s memory to Southern Health Palliative Program, Unit 8 – 380 Stone Bridge Crossing Steinbach, MB R5G 2R1 or the St. Adolphe Cemetery, Box 10 St. Adolphe, MB R5A 1A1.
