Fredrick Thomas Gordon Robinson

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Fred Robinson, beloved husband of Ruth, on Friday March 20, 2026, at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon.

Fred was born at home in the Beaver District on October 9th, 1935, son of Will and Molly Robinson. He received his education at Beaver School. He worked at CFB MacDonald until it closed. Then he went to Southport. In April of 1963 he went to work for Trans Canada Pipelines station near Edwin.

Fred married Ruth Sturgeon in the fall of that year. In 1987 Fred went on disability pension due to heath issues. He retired in 2000. They moved to Brandon in 1998. The couple had three daughters: Sandra born in 1964 and twins Linda and Lori born in 1968.

Fred enjoyed doing woodwork, restoring old cars, travelling, camping and keeping the yard mowed. He also enjoyed ski-doing. He enjoyed many camping holidays with their dear friends Murray and Maureen.

Fred was predeceased by his parents Will and Molly; daughter Linda in 2015; brother Harold and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, daughter Sandra (Ken) with grandson Jonathan (Kayla) and great grandchildren Peyton, Wyatt, Jaxson and Quinn; granddaughter Heather (Josh) and great grandchildren Esme and Sam; daughter Lori (Bryce) and granddaughter Nikki (Steph).

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm with Wilma Shirriff officiating. Burial will follow at McKenzie Cemetery, High Bluff, Manitoba.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
