With great sadness we announce, Gerald Assiniboine entered the spirit world on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Health Science Centre at the age of 72 years.

Gerald is survived by his children Gerald Jr., Geri Lynn, Shari (Kelly), Marion (Josh), Robin and family, Jason (Carrie), Todd and family; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Jeff (Tina), Laurene and family, Ryan and family; along with extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his son Christopher; sister Sharon; grandchildren Tyler and Charis; parents Marion and Lawrence Smoke; grandparents Flora and Dan Assiniboine; uncles that were like brothers George Assiniboine Sr., Jim Assiniboine, Paul Assiniboine and Johnny Hobson and his aunt Anne “Aunty Chick”.

Traditional Wake will take place at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 4:00 pm.  Traditional Feast and Ceremony will be held at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 beginning at noon followed by burial at Long Plain Cemetery.
