It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband brother uncle and friend. Jerry Johnston passed away on June 27, 2021 at the Health Science Center at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Frances; sister Louise “Toots”; nieces Jodie & Tanice; great nephew Blake and great nieces Carlee and Allie, along with a host of wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Blaine Johnston.
Gerry was born in Portage la Prairie on November 2, 1940. As a young man he worked at McLeods where he met his wife Frances. After several years at McLeod‘s he then moved on to a job at the Manitoba school where he worked until his retirement. Gerry enjoyed woodworking and spending time at the lake. He treasured his many fishing excursions with his good friends and loved nothing more to be on the lake with a rod in his hand. Gerry enjoyed many sports but especially loved to cheer on the Jets. Another one of his pass times was coffee dates with his buddies. Gerry was a kind and loving man with an infectious smile and laugh.
We will miss him dearly ❤❤
