Gervais "Jerry" Fries

Peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018, Jerry Fries passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 85 years.

Jerry is survived by his children Susan Harris, Jim Fries, Linda (Vaughn) McEachern, Doug (Victoria) Fries, Ken (Angel) Fries; grandchildren David (Diane) Benson, Harlen (Meaghan) Simard, Dustin McEachern (Carly), Savanna McEachern (Jay), Ebbinie Sawchuk (Chris), Karlynne Whincup (Jared), Kierstin McEachern (Dean), Tejada McEachern, Tanya Fries (Punky), James Fries, Chanteja Fries and Kierah Fries; 22 great grandchildren and good friends Ralph and Iris Sinclair.  He was predeceased by children Clara and William, wife/mother of his children Marj and wife Marie.

Jerry grew up in Notre Dame de Lourdes.  He spent most of his working life as a mechanic ending his career with the RM of Portage la Prairie.  Jerry enjoyed meeting friends and going for coffee at Tim Hortons.

Viewing and visitation will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 22, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 11:00 and will be led by Father Gerald Langevin.  Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with lunch to follow.
