Gregory Smith

We regret to announce the passing of Gregory Smith on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at MDC at the age of 65 years.

He was predeceased by his father Ronald Smith and step-father Bill Linden.  Gregory will be lovingly remembered by his mother Marie Linden; special aunt Elsie McIntyre and numerous cousins.

Gregory was born May 4, 1954 in London, Ontario.  The family moved to Shilo, Manitoba in 1955 when his father was serving with the Canadian Armed Forces.  Manitoba became home for the family.  Gregory became as resident of MDC as a young boy and lived there all his life.  He spent much time with Bill and Marie on the Saskatoon Farm, often stopping for coffee along the way.  Gregory had a passion for swimming and camping, especially at Delta.  He enjoyed singing along with the choir at church.  Gregory loved doing activities with his hands, one of them being pottery.

Funeral service will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 11:00 am, led by Ron Siemens.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Gregory’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
