It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother and uncle. Johnny Hewitt on November 9,2023 at the age of 46 years.

He leaves to mourn his mother Debbie Hewitt, brother Jamie (Stacey), sister Leigh (Colin) Hogue, nephews and nieces James, Ty, Kira and Tori; along with many extended family and friends. But most of all his best friend and cherished dog Zeus.  Johnny is predeceased by his father John Hewitt, grandparents Foss and Shirley Garrioch and James and Donalda Hewitt, aunt Heather Christofferson, cousin Richard Christofferson and unfortunately his friends lost to the same battle.

John was born April 21,1977 and was raised in the communities of Portage la Prairie and Oakville. He loved playing hockey, fishing, hunting and anything that involved being around people. Johnny’s larger than life personality drew people to him, including his gift to carry on a conversation and strong handshake that was usually followed up with a hug and “I love you man!”  He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and at times did. From a young age he took on the role of protector which he carried throughout his life on and off the ice. Although he was strong and always fought hard, he was unable to win this battle.  He’s now at peace and will be sadly missed by all.  We will always cherish the good memories and times spent together.  Love you, Fly high #44
