John Robert (Bob) Warburton

September 16, 1943 a" March 3, 2010

Bob was born in Winnipeg, the second son of Jack and Ivy Warburton of Poplar Point. After Grade 12, he worked for the Surveyors Branch and in the Snow Lake mines. There, he met Rae who was teaching.

Once married, they resided on the farm in Poplar Point. Bob and Rae had a dairy farm, a grain farm and later a cattle farm. In the winter months, he worked for Co-op Implements, invented and distributed grain-handling products like his wick bars, grain hands and the quarter arm for bale movers. He sold them throughout Canada, United States and into Europe. He retired from sales in 1997 when Rae retired from teaching. Bob had a photographic memory. He was an avid curler, an eager hunter, a graceful dancer, and a talented musician. He later became an armchair enthusiast of curling, baseball and football. He could be caught listening to CJOB for the Goldeyes play by play, watching the Blue Jays on TV and enjoying the Blue Bombers in the stands. If sports didn't keep his attention, he tuned into the History Channel, CPAC or CNN.

Left to mourn is his loving wife Rae, his companion "Brig" the dog, his daughter Dawn (Mike) Shawn, Christopher and Matthew, his daughter Kim, his brothers Eric (Pat) and family, Tom (Linda) and family, sisters-in-law Shirley (Malcolm) Macdonald and family, Joan (Russ) Brown and family, Uncle Bert, Aunt Ev, Aunt Marj, Aunt Mary and Auntie Jean, as well as many cousins and relatives across Canada and England. He will be sadly missed by his adoptive family, the Upgangs.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Oakville Community Hall.
