Lenora "Lorry" Nicholson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lenora (Lorry) Margaret Nicholson at Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie, on Monday July 26th, 2021 at the age of 90.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband of 69 years, Nick; her son David (Lori) of Red Deer, Alberta; and daughter Cathy (Doug) Pedden of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Also missing her are her four grandsons, Tim (Leia), Scott, Kyle, Joel (Bri) and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Sophie, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Lorry was born in 1930 in Dryden, Ontario  to Oscar and Minnie Kurz, and lived there until moving to Portage la Prairie in 2014. She and Nick loved their life in Dryden and appreciated the community and their many friends. Lorry enjoyed curling, golf, travel and, once Nick retired, spending winters in Indio California. She was a member of the Dryden United Church and spent countless hours volunteering for a variety of charitable organizations. Her favourite times were gathering the family at the Blue Lake cottage where we continue to reconnect every summer.

A service of celebration will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Lorry's memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation 24 9th St SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4, or a charity of one's choice.
