“Waabishkaa Ozawaa Giniw Inini” White Gold Eagle Man
It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Leslie Wayne Myerion, who began his journey to the spirit world on May 14, 2026, at 2:55 a.m. at Health Sciences Centre, with his loved ones beside him. As he made his journey onward, he was surrounded with love, prayers, and the strength of family.
Leslie leaves to cherish and honour his memory his father, Joseph Bowers, whom he called Daddio; children, Amberly (Marcus), Troy (Darian), Tanisha, and Raini; grandchildren, Colin, Summer-Lynn, Brinleigh, Tyler, unborn baby Kaisleigh, who is due on Papa Les’s birthday, Blaine, and Aviannah; and his great-grandchildren, Cooper and Helena. He also leaves the stepchildren he helped raise and who knew him as Dad: William, Conan, Dalton, and Nicole. He will be lovingly remembered by his former partners, Lana and Wilma, who helped raise the children with care and devotion; his brother, Greg; and his sisters, Deanna and Michelle; nieces and nephews: Kyle, Robin, Dustin, Aaron, Warren, Storm, Angel, Dustin, Autumn, Elijah, Robin, Raven, Pahwamo, Jesse, Tyler, Jordan, and Joel; great-nieces and great-nephews: Braelyn, Traeden, Lucas, Hazel, Diamond, Jeremy, Maya, Arielle, Emjay, Harvey, and Evelyn; uncles, Harold (Lorraine), Calvin, and Glen, as well as many cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
He was predeceased by his mother, Lorraine Myerion; son, Brennan; niece, Jolene; nephew, Isaac; uncles Dauphin, Robert, Mervin, and Harry Jr.; brother-in-law, Frank; aunties Evelyn, Liz, Gladys, and Jean; maternal grandparents, Annie and Harry; and paternal grandparents, Hazel and Joseph.
Leslie will be remembered as a free-spirited, kind, and generous man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to all who knew him. He walked through life in his own way, with an open heart, a gentle spirit, and a willingness to help others whenever he could. He enjoyed drawing, and in his younger adult years he was a sundancer who followed the traditional way of life. He carried those teachings with him, and his kindness and generosity touched many along his path. Though he has now begun his journey to the spirit world, his spirit will continue to walk with his family, and his memory will be carried in the hearts, prayers, and teachings of those who loved him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Harold and Lorraine Myerion and their girls, cousins Debbie and Brennan, Cousin Harry Jr., and nephew Jordan for rendering his travelling song as he began his departure to the spirit world. Their kindness, prayers, and support will always be remembered. Sincere thanks are also extended to the HSC Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Long Plain Band, McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, and to all those who lifted Leslie and his family in prayer and comfort during this difficult time.
The Traditional Wake will commence on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Long Plain Spirit Lodge. A Traditional Feast and Service will be held at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 12:00 noon, followed by burial at Dauphin Myerion Cemetery.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
