Lorna Marie Folster (nee Hamel)

With sadness we announce that Lorna Folster passed away on September 2, 2026 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 69 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Margaret Ann Liberty; nieces Caroline Liberty, Georgina (Duane) Beach, Brenda Liberty, Barbara McKenny, Sherry Hepner-Liberty (Rodney Hepner); nephew Dwayne Liberty and her cousin Loretta Malarsie (Glen DePaulo).

She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Folster.

Lorna was born in Edmonton, Alberta on August 19, 1957. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn in 2014. They resided in Portage la Prairie, Oakville and returned back to Portage la Prairie, MB.

Lorna enjoyed socializing and was a very caring individual. She liked to play BINGO and other activities which were coordinated at the residence she stayed. Also, on a bowling league and travelled to attend the tournaments. Her other hobbies included collecting stuffed plushies, watches and clocks. She loved shopping for clothes and jewelry. An avid listener to the older country music along with Christian songs.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm. Friends are invited to gather at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 1:45 pm.
