Marcus James Francis

The family of Marcus Francis is saddened to announce his passing on April 20, 2026 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 27 years.

Marcus was born in Winnipeg on February 15th, 1999 to Christopher Francis and Leeanne Daniels. Marcus grew up in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Long Plain. He enjoyed the outdoors as a child and skateboarding. He graduated from Vincent Massey in Winnipeg in 2021, and went on to work in the food industry, and as a labourer. He enjoyed working with his brother, Eli. Marcus enjoyed cooking, hanging with his friends and family, and was always happy to see his family members and visit them on the weekends.

Marcus was preceded in death by his mother Leeanne, aunty Vanessa, danikoo Flora, and aanikoo William. He is survived by his father Chris, brothers Jacob, Elighja, Logan, and Oliver, sisters Rae Anne and Emma, grandmas Beatrice (Barry) and Debra, grandpa Faron, uncles Frank (Melissa) and Cassidy, aunts Donna, Kristen, Sara (Randy), Melanie, Krystle, Michelle, Dale, and Kristen. He is also survived by his special aunts Charlotte, Loretta, and Shelley, special uncles Garrett and Gerald, special cousins whom he took as siblings Nolan, Madison, Shanalee, Brooklyn, Sydney, Eric, Noah, Mason, Aiden, and Dion, many grandmas, cousins and friends.

Traditional wake will take place at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 4pm. Feast and Ceremony will be held at Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Saturday, May 2, 2026 beginning at noon, followed by burial at the Francis Family Cemetery.
