Michelle Killam

After a long battle with cancer, Michelle Killam passed away with family by her side at the Portage District General Hospital on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the age of 53 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Stan; children Cassidy and Alexander; parents Myrna and Casey Gowler; brother Jeff (Tammy) Gowler; nephews Josh and Nick and extended family and friends.

Michelle enjoyed camping and dancing, she was always the first one on the dance floor and the last one to leave.  She was a loyal fan of the Portage Terriers and the Winnipeg Jets.  She also enjoyed a good Sudoku puzzle, having movie nights with family and friends, playing pool and could knock anyone out of the water in Guitar Hero.  Michelle was very proud of her involvement with the High School year book in her role as co-editor.   She was an avid animal lover especially towards her kitties Ike, Chloe and Sydney. Michelle loved soaking up the sun.

She was always happy and smiling, never showing the pain she was in to anyone and she never complained.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Trinity United Church, led by Julie Baker.

If friends so wish, donations in memory of Michelle may be made to Growing Support for Cancer, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.  204-857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
