With sadness we announce the passing of Myrtle MacIntosh on August 13, 2025 with family by her side at the Portage District General Hospital the age of 89 years.
She is predeceased by her husband William “Bill”, infant son Wyatt, son Preston, son-in-law Hilbert Deen. Parents John “Jack” and Isabel Ennis, brothers Orval, Gordon, Frank, Harvey and twin brother Mervin, sisters Olive, Irene and Margaret. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Jean Stevens, sisters-in-law Frank’s widow Shirley and Gordon’s widow Shirley, children Myrna Deen (Rob Roesinger), Kim Lavallee (Raymond), Terry MacIntosh (Ken Kruk), daughter-in-law Cathy MacIntosh, as well as her grandchildren: Myrna’s - Billi (Paul), Miranda (Travis) and Chantel (Derek); Kim’s - Adam (Kaylee) and Chad; Terry’s - Otis (Krystal), Vicky and Jessica (Martin); 17 great grandchildren; as well as many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Myrtle was born and raised in Treherne, Manitoba. She worked for MTS as a telephone operator in her early years and ended her career at Safeway in Portage for 26 years. She loved dancing, music, playing and coaching baseball.
Her greatest pride and joy is her Family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm, led by Amy Chappellaz. A private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date. The service will be livestreamed; to register and view click on link below.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Myrtle’s memory to the Herman Prior Activity Centre - 40 Royal Road North, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1V1.
