It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Jean Vinnell peacefully with her family by her side on October 23, 2023, at the Grace hospital at the age of 77 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her life partner Mike, daughter Betty, son Doug (Karen), grandson Nathan (Jen) great grandchildren Cole & Emily, sisters Nona, Louise, Myrna, Joanne (Bob), Marg, and Joyce (Grant) and her brother Garnet, along with her special niece Phyllis and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lottie and Murray Vinnell and grandson Devin Antiuk.
Norma Jean was born April 19, 1946, in Neepawa MB to proud Parents Lottie and Murry of Franklin MB. During her early years she went to Franklim elementary school and then Neepawa Highschool. Norma Jean grew up on a farm in franklin MB where she preferred to be in the house cooking and cleaning instead of outside getting dirty in the fields. When Jean left the farm to move into Winnipeg, she had several jobs while raising a family. But what she really enjoyed the most was cleaning and tiding. Which ultimately lead her to a career in the cleaning business. Once she became a homeowner, she also enjoyed gardening and outdoor work. She also enjoyed many days just sitting outside on her patio with Mike and company.
Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end: it simply means “I’ll miss you,’ until we meet again.”
Celebration of life will take place on Friday November 3 at 2 PM, at Aboriginal Funeral Home, 724 Selkirk Ave Winnipeg MB R2W 2N3.
