Robert (Bobbi-Joe) Smith

September 30, 1946 — March 16, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert (Bobbi-Joe) Smith on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home in St. Claude, MB, at the age of 77.

Bobbi-Joe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Debbie; children Jason Smith (Shelley), Sarah Smith (Joe) and Karen Smith (Graham); grandchildren Blake, Kailley, Carleigh, Michael and Stephanie; great-grandchild Heidi; and extended family.  He was predeceased by his father Charles; mother Marie; and siblings Dennis, Louis, and Helen.

Robert known affectionately as Bobbi-Joe or Bob, spent the better part of his life in St. Claude, MB.  In 1973, he found his soulmate in Debbie, and together they nurtured a beautiful family of three children. On March 12th marked their 49th wedding anniversary, a remarkable testament to their enduring love and devotion to each other. 

Bobbi-Joe dedicated himself to Modern Dairies (now known as Lactalis Canada), where he worked from 1969 until his retirement in 2014.  In his retirement years, Bobbi-Joe found joy in supporting his grandchildren at football games and volleyball tournaments, cheering them on with unwavering pride. He also found fulfillment in his involvement with the St. Claude Historical Society and his volunteer work for the St. Claude Gazette.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Central Plains Cancer Services for their compassionate care, which Bobbi-Joe deeply appreciated. 

Bobbi-Joe will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Though he has left this world, his memory will endure in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.

In accordance with Bobbi-Joe's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
