On July 22, 2023, Robert “Bob” Nadon passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 68 years.
Bob was born April12, 1955 in Kentville Nova Scotia. Shortly after his birth, they moved back to Portage la Prairie. Bob, along with his twin sister Roberta, they were the #2 in a family of 10 children. He was predeceased by his mother Beatrice Hannah, stepfather Allen Hannah, twin sister Roberta Nadon, brother Wally Hannah, niece Twila Nadon and his father- in-law Edward Jarvie. He is survived by his wife Milly; daughter Karen Altenburg (Bobby), their children Morgan, Mackenzie and Nikki; son Robert Nadon, his children Faith, Olivia and Athena; stepdaughter Megan Jensen; mother-in-law Angela Jarvie and brother-in-law Andy Jarvie (Stacey). Also survived by his brother Gerry Nadon (Deb), Geraldine Delorme, Victor Klyne (Pearl), Bridgette Funk (Abe), Cathy Guenther (Dick), Wes Hannah (Rhonda), Arlene Davis (Jack) along with many nieces and nephews and of course his fur baby Zena.
Bob worked at various jobs over the years. He drove from Canpar, a baker at Robins donuts, delivered furniture with his brother Wally at Delta Home Furnishings but one of his proudest moments was getting his class 1 license and being able to drive a truck. Bob liked to drive truck and his favorite was driving with his son-in-law Bobby to various places in the states.
Bob loved to tinker and take things apart to see how they worked or to fix them. He usually got them put back together and occasionally had spare parts.
Bob loved his family deeply. His proudest moments were giving his daughter Karen away at her wedding and becoming a grandfather. He loved being grandpa. He loved his girls and was so proud of each of them.
Bob was a kind, generous, gentle man and he gave the best hugs ever. After his Parkinson’s diagnoses in 2019 and the pandemic, Bobs whole world was Karen, Bobby and his girls. Him being the proud man that he was, did not want people to see him as his condition worsened. He wanted people to remember who he was, not who illness made him. After a brief illness, Bob's big heart grew tired and gave up his fight.
Thank you, Karen, for being here with us through this whole ordeal. He almost never complained about his illness except for not being able to help out around the house.
Bob, we will love you forever and we already miss you so much.
A memorial service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
