It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shae Opal Jonsson on Friday June 2, 2017, in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 20 years.

Shae was a smart and beautiful young woman whose smile and resilient personality would light up the room and lift up everyone in it.  She was a very caring person who will be missed by all her friends and family.  Shae lost her long struggle with addiction which she battled for some time.  May she finally find some peace.

Left to mourn Shae’s passing are her Mom Sharon (Shawn) Bailey, brothers and sister Cameron Jonsson, Emma Bailey and Jack Jonsson, father Greg (Irilis) Jonsson, grandma Joanne Jonsson, aunts and uncles Robert Burston (Ashley), Jamie Burston, Tish Jonsson (Brad), Dan Jonsson (Kristin), Chris Jonsson, Christine Muchmore (Brian), Cousins Hunter Burston, Arrianna Burston, Jessica Burston, Cole Jonsson, Matt Jonsson, Connor Jonsson, Robyn Jonsson, Joe Muchmore and Axel Muchmore.  Extended Family Ian & Susan Bailey, Kelly & Byrna McDermid, Kaitlyn McDermid, Chelsea McDermid, Randy & Wendy Gretsinger, Kim Longstreet.

Shae was predeceased by her grandma Starr Burston, Grandpa Jack Jonsson, and great-grandma Opal Burton.

Friends are invited to a time of viewing and visitation on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie, MB, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.  A private family burial will take place at High Bluff Cemetery.  Family and friends are encouraged to bring a picture they are fond of for the poster board at the viewing.

The family would like to thank Lindsay Hutton, Jodi McArthur, Jenelle Walker, Donna Moman & family for all the support they offered Shae over the years.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Shae’s memory to New Directions Endowment Fund, 717 Portage Ave. Ste 500, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0M8.
