Sheila Ruth Daly (nee Tully, Kalupar)

After a brief illness, Sheila passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre with family by her side, on November 12, 2025.

Sheila was born on April 22, 1941 and raised in Poplar Point, Manitoba. During her school years, Sheila played soft ball and attended Girl Guides. Sheila married and raised her family in Winnipeg where she continued to live.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Judy (Kevin), Val (Kevin), Don; grandchildren Jeff, Rick (Diane), Anthony (Nicole), Tamara (Dallas); and great grandchildren, Alec, Thomas, Brock, Ryan and Rory. Sheila is also survived by brothers-in-law, Stan, Cliff and sisters-in-law, Pat, Irene, Vivian (Paul), Joan and Denice; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Art and Jean Tully; her sisters Evelyn Sherdahl, Mabel Tully, Marlene Thomas and husbands Peter Kalupar and Frank Daly.

Over the years, Sheila volunteered with several organizations: L’Arche, WASO, Grey Street United Church Choir and School Breakfast Program, and the Oaklanders Social Club. She held jobs at the Bay in Kildonan Place and as a homecare companion. She loved to dance, play bingo, craft artificial flower arrangements, play card games with friends and most of all knit mittens. In recent years, Sheila supplied many bags of “grandma mitts” to keep school children’s fingers warm. In earlier years, Sheila enjoyed travelling with her husband Frank and friends from church, to Ireland, Europe and Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.

In accordance with her wishes, Sheila will be laid to rest in the Oakville Cemetery in a private family service.
