Shirley Mae Unrau

Peacefully, with her family by her side, Shirley Unrau passed away on December 23, 2025, at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 82 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Edward Unrau; children Robin (Brett) Pongoski, Cameron (Shay) Unrau all of Portage la Prairie, and Shawna (David) Alderson of Okotoks, AB; grandchildren Maria Pongoski, Lydia Pongoski (Victor Nguyen) with great grandchild Elliot Nguyen; Gloria Pongoski, Owen Unrau (Jada King), Erik Unrau, Cooper Unrau, Griffin Unrau, Maximilian Alderson and Dexter Alderson. She will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings and extended family in Manitoba, BC and across Canada. She was predeceased by her grandson Jack Alderson.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Gainsborough Community Club at 2:00 pm. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed by registering at the link below. Private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
