Teryl was born on August 7, 1983 and started her journey on May 23, 2026 in Portage la Prairie at the age of 42 years.

She will be missed by her son Sylvae Smoke; mother Doris Roulette; siblings Duane and Teri Roulette; Owen, Tara, Candy, Bella and Spencer Smoke; grandsons Rico and Micah Roulette; aunt Evelyn Roulette; uncle Mervin Roulette along with numerous nieces, nephews and family she cherished.

She was predeceased by her son Konye; daughter Keyanna Smoke; father Richard Smoke; sister Selina Smoke and grandparents Alfred and Mable Roulette and Lawrence and Marion Smoke.

Teryl grew up in Portage alongside her brothers on the ice as she went on to excel and played until she became a mother. It was her joy in life and she was devoted to her sons and family that she was so proud of.

The family would like to thank Dakota Tipi First Nation for their donations and help in Teryl’s Fire.

Wake will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge beginning at 4:00 pm. Feast and ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at the Long Plain Cemetery.
