It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Tommy. On August 19th, 2026, Tommy began his journey to be with his loved ones who had passed on before him in the spirit world. Tommy was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Dauphin and Mary Jane Myerion, his father Ernie Baziel, his beloved mother Christina, his favorite aunty Eva Myran, infant brother Gary, brothers Stanley and Cecil, Aunty Clara and Uncle Clarence, Uncle’s Louis Myran (Moon Johnson), Dave and Bruce Myran. Tommy always had a special place in his heart for his sons Chris Myran and infant Shawn Thomas. He was a cherished son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, father, cousin, and friend.
On February 28th, 1955, Tommy was chosen by the Creator to come down to Earth, but not without choosing Ernie Baziel and Christina Myerion whom he dearly loved as his parents. Tommy is survived by his loving wife Leona, siblings Wilfred, Judy (Cecil) and Joey, Barb Cameron, Josephine and Tony Paul, his children Chris and Lyle Lilley, Tara (Chad), and Candice (Patrick). Tommy had a special place in his heart for “Chop”, “Buster” and “OG” who will sadly miss him as well. Tommy had numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren whom he leaves to mourn. Tommy always had a special place in his heart for Keith Cameron and the memories they had as they grew up together.
Tommy was an excellent construction worker who had a diverse range of skills and experiences that showcased his adaptability whether it was in the construction industry or being a band councillor (LPFN) for a couple of years. Growing up he always had a passion for hunting and attending horse races at Assiniboia Downs. A hobby that he enjoyed consisted of spending time drawing and reading. Tommy was fortunate to have owned his own construction business for several years. Tommy approached his work with professionalism and a strong work ethic at all times throughout his life. His contributions to these industries will be remembered and appreciated by those who had the opportunity to work alongside him.
Tommy’s wife Leona was his main source of strength and pride. His love for his children and family was immeasurable and will surely transcend time and space. He was known for providing for his family and always ensuring they were well loved and taken care of.
Although Tommy’s time with us was cut short, his impact on those around him will leave lasting impacts on all those who knew and loved him. Tommy was a residential school survivor. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering spirit.
Traditional Feast and Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Sunday August 23, 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Dauphin Myerion Cemetery at a later date.
