Peacefully in her sleep Trudy Karlson passed away at the age of 59 years.
Trudy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Cpl. Gary Wilson (Ret. Veteran); children Alana (Michael) of Winnipeg, Breanne of Portage la Prairie, Hayley (Trevor) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Evan, Alarey, Callum, Rayley, Juelz and Kobe; great-granddaughter Jaidyce; siblings Raymond (Pennie) Karlson of Dauphin and Shelly (Kelly) Eastman of Oakbank; Erroll and family, Aaron and family, Brittany and family; extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Brenda and James Karlson and son Ryan James.
Trudy was raised in a loving family who encouraged her love for figure skating. She was an accomplished skater/instructor in her younger years.
She was a dedicated mother to her three girls, sixteen years ago she was reunited with her birth son Ryan. Trudy was proud of all her grandchildren and had an extra special relationship with her grandson Evan who recently blessed her with her first great-granddaughter Jaidyce.
In 2007 Trudy met the love of her life Gary and began a real life love story. Sharing many fur babies, recently adding a golden retriever Bob to their family. Trudy was a well-respected employee of Portage Mutual Insurance Company of almost 35 years of dedicated service and eagerly looking forward to retirement in September. A warrior and survivor of Breast Cancer Trudy was a proud ambassador for Cancer and proudly Modeled for the Yearly cancer Fashion Show. Trudy had many passions in life and was a passionate avid crafter. Those who were associated and or worked with Trudy were blessed with her laughter and humour. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and coworkers.
In accordance with Trudy’s wishes, her family will celebrate her memory privately.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Trudy’s memory to Central Plains Cancer Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8.
