On November 12th, 2025 our beloved Wayne fully embraced his journey to the Spirit World. Although we wept in sorrow, we knew he deserved the peace that was so greatly earned.
Wayne valiantly stayed with us throughout his illness, sharing with us his courage, bravery and grace. Fully preparing us was his last act of kindness that we will always be grateful for.
Dad carried many titles - son, daddy, brother, uncle, papa, protector and Charlie Wayne, which many of his friends knew him as. His humble presence, caring nature and love remain far reaching. He had the unique gifts to make us smile, laugh, and feel special. We hope we did the same for him.
Wayne leaves to mourn his children: Lori (Calvin), Christopher W.D (Myran)YellowQuill, Cody Flett, Sam Baxter (Gracie), and Kyla Myran, traditionally adopted son Trevor peters.
Grandchildren: Jackson, Zayden, Lovey, Chloe, Kingston, Nynde, Elsie, Aidyn and Brennan. Sisters: Beverly Everett, Freida Starr, Doris, Linda and Cindy Myran, his Auntie Francis Monteyne, Brother In-law Clarence Daniels. He also leaves to mourn his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all those who claimed him as Papa.
Wayne was predeceased by: Mother Angelina (Lena) Myran, Father Gordon Myran, Infant son Cory and daughter Mandy. Grandparents: Louis and Sophie Esquash, Archie and Flora Myran and Christy Prince. Brothers: Ron Esquash and Wayne Daniels, Sisters: Sharon Daniels, Helen and Rita Myran. Nephew Kelly Myran, Niece Shannon Daniels, Brother In-Law Alfred Everett and Cousin/Brother/Friend Danny McKinney who comforted him after the loss of his brother, Ron who was his best friend and mentor.
Wayne worked various farm jobs that carried forth his skills. His love for the land was instilled to him by his father and grandfathers.
Wayne was in the first graduating class as a member of the first troop with the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council Police Department. This career took him to many Manitoba First Nations communities to not only serve and protect but to care for and honor those community members.
He logged over a million miles as a long-distance truck driver. Working many long hours, he never got over the views, vistas and opportunities to travel far and wide.
Wayne was a Residential School and Day School Survivor. These experiences shaped his life with determination to become a thriver as: a Horseman, Pipe Carrier, Sun Dance Singer and Drummer. As a Traditional Knowledge Keeper, he generously shared his teachings freely and always maintained a high level of respect and honor for Christianity and its teachings.
Our family gives thanks to the caregivers and medical staff at Notre Dame des Lourdes Hospital, Vascular Team, especially Dr. Boyd at Health Sciences Centre, Chantel Vivier – Home Care, Fire Keepers, Tipi Providers, Wellness Unit, MFNPS and all who have provided comfort, support to Wayne and our family and those who have expressed and sent condolences.
