At this time, we lovingly remember, Betty Nick, (Feb. 6th, 1939 to Feb. 21st, 2020), cherished by her devoted husband, Andy, of almost 58 years, and predeceased by her parents, George and Jessie Rempel, and her sisters, Susie and Mary.
Betty was immensely proud of her family and she leaves behind beautiful shared memories of her lifetime of love - especially dear to her heart were the family trips to Mexico and swimming with the dolphins. These memories and so many others will be treasured by her son, Dwight (Michelle), her daughter Natalie (Tom and his son, Johnathan), and her grandchildren, Jarett and Rayce. Betty is also survived by sister, Sara Klassen and extended family members.
Betty’s dream came true when she and Andy embarked on a leap of faith relocating from their hometown of Portage la Prairie, MB to West Kelowna, BC in 2012 – a mutually shared 30 year old dream finally realized! In West Kelowna, Betty felt blessed each day in her new condo with the breathtaking views, and her travels in their hard-top convertible were a constant source of joy and delight. She frequently had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn’t still dreaming!
Our family extends deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Kelowna General Hospital, not only for their medical expertise, but for their compassion and for their human touch. They surrounded Betty and her family with extraordinary warmth, kindness and sometimes even humor, as she prepared to take her trip to heaven with her family by her side. Betty’s beauty and inner strength shone so brightly during her last days with her family – her courage and determination to rise above her pain gives testament to her incredible spirit.
Betty’s wishes for cremation have been honored, requesting no funeral or memorial service. However, as Betty continues to light up the lives of those whom she touched during her time with us, Betty’s family welcomes loving tributes to her memory at www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com.

      Feelings

No more your face to look upon

      Or beautiful smile to see

Though deep inside my heart I know

      You still reside with me.

When the sun casts down its golden rays

That’s when I see your smile

Then rain drops fall just like my tears

And my heart aches for a while

A rainbow in the sky appears

With a beauty of its own

And on the breeze I hear your voice

      It whispers you’re not alone.
