In 1960 they returned west to Winnipeg where Louis worked with his father-in-law in the road construction. Throughout his working years Louis had numerous employments where he worked on road construction, in real estate and as a Commissionaire. He ended his work career working with the Manitoba Government as a security guard for the city of Portage la Prairie until he retired in 2000. Louis spent the last 27 years in Portage la Prairie, with the last years battling multiple health conditions but always kept his sense of humour. Louis would like to thank his kind friends Doug Garnham, Mike and Mary Hordesky in helping him during this time.
