Phillip "Phil" Douglas Davey

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Phillip Douglas Davey on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 61 years.

Lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Tammy Davey (Rintoul) of MacGregor; his brothers Joe (Shelley) of MacGregor, Keith (Lee) of Fortier and Brett (Sharla) of MacGregor; nieces and nephews Jaclyn, Lance, Scott, Kirbey, Brynn, Ty, Drew,  Amelia, Kayleigh, Drake, Bailey, Mykayla and Ryder and all of his many friends.

Phillip was predeceased by his parents Doug and Gay Davey and his in-laws Tom and Allison Rintoul.

Phil was born in MacGregor and lived in the Westbourne area in the early years of his life, moving to MacGregor in the 60’s where he remained for the rest of his life.  Schools he attended were Westbourne, MacGregor and River River Community College where he received his Commercial art degree. He married his high school sweetheart, Tammy in 1980.  Phil worked at several places during his life, starting with the MacGregor Esso, Jack Wolfe, Mac’s Rentals, Alan’s Autobody, Portage Dodge Chrysler, Four Way Motors and was currently employed at Henry & Bernie Aalbers, Aalbers Farms.

Because of Phil’s love of hunting he decided to learn, on his own, to do taxidermy work which he did as a hobby for several years, many sets of antlers being done for many friends in the area.  His greatest passion was hunting, which he could never get enough of.  He also loved golfing, fishing and hockey.

Phil was a very caring and loving person.  All of his family and friends meant everything to him and he tried to spend any free time he had visiting them.  He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed playing practical jokes.  Phil thought there was nothing better than a good argument, especially related around politics.

Phil enjoyed all of his fly in hunting trips with friends and family, along with all of his hunting trips to various places in the U.S..  Vacation spots also to many Canadian and U.S. destinations including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Florida being a favorite U.S. destination.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the MacGregor Golf Club with a reception to follow at the Heartland Multiplex.
